International Volunteer Day has been run for the last 9 years with the last two attracting TV coverage. The event is organised by Swechha who aims to encourage and support young people to volunteer. The aim of the day is to help clean up the Yamuna River with the ultimate aim of getting the youth of India interested in their society and making a positive change.
